This year, Mediterráneo Señales Marítimas (MSM) marks 20 years of developing innovative solutions in Aids to Navigation to ensure maritime safety.
To commemorate this journey, MSM organized a very special celebration on Friday, January 23rd, 2026, designed as a surprise for the entire team and created to share, enjoy and strengthen the spirit that has defined the company since its beginnings.
A Surprise Celebration for the Whole MSM Team
The day began with a team-based activity in honour of our roots: an original Paella Competition, where MSM colleagues became chefs for a day. Divided into groups according to the buoy types of the IALA Maritime Buoyage System (MBS), participants prepared a total of eight paellas in an atmosphere full of collaboration, creativity and, above all, plenty of laughter.
After a closely contested deliberation, the jury delivered its verdict and selected the best paella, followed by the award ceremony for the winning team. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a meal where the true stars were the paellas cooked by the MSM team themselves.
An Anniversary Marked by Team Spirit and a Vision for the Future
The celebration continued with a commemorative 20th anniversary cake crowned with a lighthouse, a symbol of MSM’s commitment to maritime safety and navigation.
During the event, founders Ignacio Rodríguez and Fernando Romero addressed the team, thanking all those who have made it possible for MSM to reach two decades of experience and continue projecting itself into the future with new challenges and projects within the Aids to Navigation (AtoN) sector.
As a souvenir of this special date, all employees received a commemorative gift: custom lighthouse-patterned socks, a nod to the company’s maritime identity. Colleagues with more than 20 years at MSM also received a very special gift: a bracelet enabling the geolocated tracking of a whale in the oceans, symbolising MSM’s commitment to protecting the marine environment.
Fun, Music and the MSM Spirit
The celebration was marked by an outstanding atmosphere of joy and togetherness, ending with a lively party where music and dancing put the perfect finishing touch to an unforgettable afternoon. Fun, camaraderie and pride of belonging were the essential ingredients of a celebration that reflects what MSM truly is: a united, innovative team committed to excellence in the maritime sector.
